About Northeast Cuisine
Northeast Cuisine is a dedicated to the expansion and proliferation of Seasonal-Local food in the Northeast US. In our current era of global supply chains we enjoy unprecedented access to foods from around the world. That cosmopolitanism has shaped our media and culture to expect all ingredients, at all times, regardless of classic constraints of climate, geography, cost...or dare we say flavor and quality.
This project builds modern web tools for Seasonal-Local recipe creation, permaculture design, integrated supply chains, and food business.

About This Site
This site is built with HTMX and the hypermedia architecture. Instead of a heavy JavaScript framework, the server returns HTML fragments that HTMX swaps into the page — delivering a fast, interactive experience with minimal client-side complexity.
The backend is powered by Django, and pages update dynamically through hypermedia controls: links and forms enhanced with HTMX attributes. The result is a site that feels like a single-page app but stays simple, accessible, and progressively enhanced.
While using this site, many useful documents with structured data are being created in the background. Recipes become sprawling metadata documents with linked data to other entities in our physical world. By linking data in this way, we unlock the potential for rich, interconnected experiences and deeper insights into the relationships between ingredients, recipes, and regional food systems.
